Hi All,
I am on the brink of a dilema, I with some very use help from OriginalGriff managed to get some software out to a client. Heard nothing from them about it, so do I treat it as no news is good news or bother them ? Opions please:

I would certainly follow up with a phone call to ensure all is well and to get some feedback.
It keeps you in their 'Sphere of Awareness' and gives you a professional touch.
It is also good from a marketing point and if there are any minor niggles or difficulties, you could do the work around or repair for them so they would be more inclined to offer you fresh work.

Sadly there is a time difference, and they use an odd VOIP system. Plus the guy I'm dealing with is scary, email he can't hear the quiver in my voice. Not that is impossible to type nervous it's a little harder to pick up!

Leave them well alone.
If nothing else, it's Friday, and if you can get out of the office before they decide it's urgent enough that you have to work the weekend to fix it...

Thanks that was what I was thinking, plus Boss back next week. I think I shall spent the day building the installer!

Also I have a question about something the installers got to do, which forum is best for that?

QA probably - there isn't a specific installers forum, and if there was it wouldn't be frequently visited!

I guess that depends if they paid you or not
I used to work on a business intelligence product that was often bought by companies who had been told by the bank to get their finances in order. It wasn't unusual for recieving our software to be the last anyone saw of them. Our guys would call and get no repy, turn up on site and find they'd cut and run with whatever they could carry once they really understood their financial position.

Send them an angry e-mail asking WTF they haven't been back to you. Then give OG's address for responses.

Yeah, No! Like the idea but the guy I have to deal with looks like beat me to death with his Mac book, he is the Chuck Norris of clients "we don't charge for our time, he charges us for his!"

There's a couple of possible reasons.
- No news is good news
- They're making a list of all bugs and aren't ready yet
- They've given up and look for a new developer and a lawyer
In any case you should follow up, because it shows commitment, but as Griff said, not on a Friday.

2 let it be, please! Mind you that was only the exe I sent, I am still working on the installer!, my other experience as happened in the past with this very person was he didn't test the application until he was about to send it to the end user and came up with suggestions that had to be implemented (on a Friday) before 4:00 pm CET he came up with changes at 1:00 pm GMT, no early leaving that Friday!

In software development there is a great rule of thumb regarding this:
No news is... check your internet connection.
