I have found that being an in-shape programmer with a weight lifting hobby is bad for the career. No matter how much of a kitten you are people continuously go behind your back to your manager and claim to be intimidated. Just because I defenestrated one person, that one time. Sheesh, it was a one-story building!
Long story short, just because someone likes to fight out of work doesn't make them a threat. Physical fitness is a great zen.

In our small group of around 15 people, we are two martial artists, two EX-martial artist and two fitness freaks. That doesn't seem to be a problem for anybody else...
But then again, neither of us have defenestrated anybody. We work on the fourth floor...

I've had this exact problem before, so I know what you mean. I don't have a solution either. Just discuss it when it comes up I guess. Since then it's been something that I'm aware of, so I take care to be sensative to the problem.

My eldest sproglet came to me this morning and said "Dad, my camera is all fuzzy." She handed it to me and sure enough the auto-focus isn't auto focusing, so I moved the zoom in and out to check that was all working ok, there were no settings to adjust, however as I moved it around I noticed there was auto focus adjustment happening.
So, I took the camera pointed it at something about 6 foot away, blurry as a blurry thing. Rotating the camera through 180 degrees so it is now upside down and for some bizarre reason, the autofocus kicks in and the image on the LCD is perfect. Rotates it back the right way up and it is out of focus again.
Can't for the life of me think why the camera would work when it is upside down, but not the right way up :-/

Autofocus is evil; don't use it.

Your Children have Cameras that don't double up as a phone?

Of course they are too young to need a phone, so they are not getting one, plain and simple as that. The eldest is 9 and some of her friends have phone, so as you an imagine there is some peer pressure happening, but the words "tough sh!t" still come to mind.

Similar but different. Daughters camera...take piccy "normally" and get white. Take piccy with flash and OK. Outside, inside, same result. Camera in bin. Not so bad as it was six years old and only a $150 jobbie.

I just emailed Sean and Chris to ask for the deletion of my account.
I need to take some time off, and will eventually return under a different name and with another account.
CodeProject is a great community, and I wish just the best for all of you. Continue how you did over the almost two years I've been a Member, and best of luck for the next 10 Million members.

Does it really matter? Sadly, this is a case of two sides not being able to step back and take a breather - there comes a time in a Troll War where you have to ask who's really winning and just walk away.
