If you don't want spam to be visible on the homepage, then it might be an idea to post that in the suggestions-forum. Shouldn't be too hard to filter out the messages that have been reported as spam.

It's a workaround, and IIRC that suggestion has already been posted. The problem is to filter out false-positives, I guess.

Indeed they are.
But now, that chapter is closing: soon we will see those that fought no more, for they are growing old. There will be no more mass remembrances. And who will then remember the struggle, and those who fought and died so that we didn't have to?
As Binyon said:
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
And let us hope that the next generation does remember: or there is a very real chance that they will have to suffer the same fate.

Hi Griff,
I grew up near the beaches of Walcheren were Royal Marines landed in November 1944 after the dikes were bombed and water flooded the Island so only higher parts were left. The marines took the route thru a small, just a few hundreds of meters wide forest to capture these in the advance of there landing. The bullet holes in the trees are still recognisable in that small strip.
Almost everything was destroyed during the liberation of the Island leaving a scar in it's history just like the period the Romans were there did.
These boy's that have fallen on it's shore and in the fierce fighting in the after match of the liberations will be remembered and I think all of those who gave their life at the battle of Normandy and the whole WW2 battle in general will be to.
That war is a big scar in the history of mankind
With friendly greetings,
Eric Goedhart

I went to Alderny many years back, it is one of the Channel Islands, British, but not part of the UK, it is off the coast of France and was taken by the Germens in the war. It is covered with bunkers, hundreds of them, massive big concrete b locks.
Then there are the Napoleonic forts built by the British in case Bonepart invaded.
The island had a lot of history.
