I can't handle the new font.
I'm not saying the old logo[^] was much better, nor the spelling[^], but I keep hovering over the logo expecting to see a tooltip that explains that the logo celebrates kids books.
Sorry.
For an animated history of Google's logo just do a Google Search[^]. Clever chaps.
cheers

I updated my Nexus 7 to Android 5.1.1 a couple of days ago, Google is still in the old font at start up. Looks much better than the new shite.
Gay is the word I think you are looking for to describe it.

Which version is the Nexus 7? And if it doesn't give you loads of grief, can you let me know?
When I put it on my 2012 version (the one with the single camera) it locked up often, reset itself frequently, and was a general purpose Elephanting PITA. I went back to 4.4 and it's been fine since.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Got 3 x Gen I and 1 x Gen I with SIM slot. All running 5.1.1 though not being used extensively. The Missus just plays shite games on hers, both kids had to get iPad Airs for school. I have the SIM slot one and it sits in my work bag and comes out when I have to check something that the phone won't do for or I want to piss about myself.
<EDIT>
I had upgraded to 5.0.2 then 5.1 prior to 5.1.1 and they all seemed to be fine.

Gay? As in happy/excited or attracted to fonts of the same type? All good either way.

It's fair to say, Google's use of the word isn't the first time this spelling was used. Google was used as the name of a bun by Enid Blyton in the Faraway Tree. Link[^]

It is seriously scary that you know that!!!

It really isn't. I read the books to my daughters when they were younger.

I don't like it either. Seems like they are drinking the kool-aid of minimalist design (flat/ugly) like MS! But...it's still free, and my search engine of choice.
