Soldering with a paper clip as the tip. I love it.

Weller do a "wave tip" for their irons, which allows you to solder SMT IC's with a single pass per row.
Ask me no more about it: Herself was the soldering expert, and could hand solder 304 pin 0.5mm spacing QFP ARM processors with two tacks and four swipes for prototyping. And they worked!

Wave tip?
Do you have to hold the board above your head? Or does it have a built in vacuum?

I could do it, but the chances of the chip or PCB ever working again are ... zero, or probably less.
I suspect that nobody told her it couldn't be done, so she just went ahead and did it. Impressive woman, honestly.

Well a bit of thick copper wire works better than a paper clip, I speak from experience !

Well yes - better conductivity.

This one is going to be easy as the theme is already out.

Somewhat fulfills the down under part, but sadly isn't what I was thinking.

Maybe I'm wrong and everyone knows their Harry Potter trivia a lot better than I do, but I think this week's theme caters to too small of a niche audience and it might just be a back and forth between yesterday's and today's CCC setters.
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, I have the same feeling. But I am obligated to follow the theme.
<edit>
Also, my lack of expertise setting CCC could also be a factor here.

I agree I don't know anything about Harry Potter - If we are going to continue with themes we need to keep them as broad as possible e.g. Famous Horror Films, Famous westerns - etc... etc.. with the emphasis being on famous and not on the same film all week
