Anybody else having an issue with slow downs with VS2012? Occasionally moving my cursor or highlighting some text the program will slow to a hault for several seconds, and the longer I leave VS Open the worse it gets, until I retart the program.
I'm still spending more than half my time in VS2010 because it's feals fast and responsive, compared to VS2012.
Without the theme editor for 2012 to make it a little more bearable (the defaults are horrable)I don't think I would try to use 2012 at all.

Is this the technical term for "putting the colours back"?

Not really, but I did get a complete 'came to standstill/lockup' for about 30 seconds today.
I tried out some new classes in my app, they didn't provide anything over the alternate I was already using. So removed all the code, and then deleted the reference. VS hung up as soon as I ok'd the reference delete dialog. I was almost going to force a "kill" on visual studio, when it suddenly came back to life.

Just be glad you're not using Delphi XE2. If I even highlight over the "Refactor" menu, it freezes for about a minute, and sometimes I just have to restart it. A few of the devs I work with have actually edited their registry in order to get rid of the menu completely, so as they don't accidentally highlight or click it.

Yep, I'll often get a popup dialog which states "Please wait while Visual Studio does some background processing".
WTF? If it's background, then why am I being asked to wait for it in the foreground?

VS2012 was written to test the upper boundaries of usefulness with regards to WPF. It seems to me that they rather easily discovered those boundaries.

I've seen some slowdowns, but nothing too severe. I'm using the Express version (for Windows 8 apps).
