At home I use windows 8 on 3 machines. Since coming back to work on Tuesday, I don't know how many times I have tried to do Windows 8 things on the work Windows 7 machine.
e.g. scooting the mouse to bottom left and waiting for the start to appear before clicking.
I think I must have got over the initial hurdle from going from 7 to 8, and now dealing with the "putting up with 7" symptoms...

I'm actually finding it frustrating not being able to scroll using my finger, or move the cursor just by touching the screen. I was on my "old" Sony about 20 minutes ago and that was so frustrating.

I don't know if it is worth you upgrading.
But, I took the plunge because I wanted to do reinstalls of my machines to have a clear out, and also move my main pc to a SSD. It also coincidently fixed a GPU issue that I thought was hardware related!
