I like codeproject style: it is relaxing with his white and orange (and similar colors).
What really stings my eye are some of the advertisments in the upper bar: those colored in red are the limit, but other colors as violet and blue (or, even worse, multicolored gradients) hurt my delicate eyes, expecially in the early mornings.
... yes, yes, I know, there are websites that really suffocate the user with psychedelic banners everywhere: I'm not really criticizing here, only stating an opinion before starting my day at work.

I once had a bitch at CM about the flashy ads with scrolling bits, I find them most annoying. As is to be expected there was no real change although I did get a response. I'm just thankful there are no really offensive ads here.

I see no offensive ads here at all!
Mind you, I use AdblockPlus, but don't tell Chris

Me too.
Maybe someone should develop an ad-blocker that doesn't show the ad to the user but still delivers the pay-off to the site owner.

To be fair, without the eye-hurting ads I doubt the UI of great beauty would be available to us.

At the moment there is a descent ad for "Free HTML 5 training + exam" on top of the page...
However I brought the "Bad ugly eye-killing website"-theme up here in last October[^].
