Nearly seriously, we worked out that with two days travelling it is still cheaper to drive then to fly and rent when we get here. In the two weeks since arrival, we've done around 800 miles going up and down to visit people and places.

Wow.
You've made a CPian hope that DD does well in politics.
That's nothing short of miraculous.

Living in Cambridge I can tell you that the Cam is too narrow for two boats side by side in a race.

The original gender discrimination was based on a typo in the rules - it was meant to say both teams must have a cox[^].

Was one of the boats lacking any cox?

My claim to fame - I was part of the team that had the largest cox in the university, and I was indeed the biggest cox around.
We were a "social" crew - interested in learning, but not in 5am starts needed for proper competition. The crew's original cox was, as you'd expect, tiny and had never rowed - so in his final term I swapped with him so he could at least have a go.

That was known as a 'gentleman oarsman' in my day. I was one too.
I've rowed part of the boat race course and was really surprised by the current, you have to row quite hard just to stand still.

Rob Philpott.

My missus is a good rower. She can row better than most. She will row with anyone. She's always rowing - shes never been near a boat though.

Do you visit the Korova Milk Bar often?
The language is JavaScript. that of Mordor, which I will not utter here
This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a f***ing golf cart.
