OK then in that case the 500Gb Samsung would definitely be a good choice. I do have a SanDisk SSD in my work laptop that works well too.

A couple of weeks ago, I had to replace my system drive and I purchased the Pro version of this drive. I am very pleased with it, but some suggestions:
1) Check out the reviews for this drive on Amazon. There are numerous reports that the software that Samsung provides will offer to upgrade the firmware. DO NOT DO THIS. The new firmware will totally fry the drive. The firmware out of the box works fine!
2) This same Samsung software is not compatible with Windows 10. This did not bother me, as I totally avoided installing the Samsung software. (Samsung may have fixed this issue by now.)
3) I had a systems drive image made by an old version of Acronis. I could not use it, because the old Acronis did not work with this drive. I do not know if later versions will work. I ended up having to install Windows 10 from an installation DVD.
The installation went remarkable smoothly and I am very pleased with the drive's warp speed!

The 1 Terabyte model was on sale at Newegg a while ago so I bought it as part of a new build...haven't built the rest yet though.
I installed the 500 gig in a box recently, worked well...amazing how fast a computer boots with an SSD.

I have the 850 EVO Pro 500G in my Gigabyte Brix i7 (16G RAM) and love it.
