Around here such words are clear Soapbox material...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

And the word is ?

Don't think he wants to do it tomorrow!
But I've done it once this week, so it's only fair to give the rest a chance.

It's not unusual. It's correct! It's only lazy indolents who omit the diphthong!

If in Greek you are interested, it should be: enkyklopaideia

enkuklopaideia, actually. I'd have no problem with that but our lords and masters decided to anglicise it centuries ago. The least we can do is preserve the diphthong before it too disappears into the yawning maw of the easy spelling monster! Rise up you gynaecologists and paediatricians and say "No more!" Cry out, you oenologists, "They can tak oor jobs, but they cannae tak oor diphthongs!"

You are correct on both the etymology and my indolence.

Did you see that naive one, suggesting re-reading the manual...I can't remember getting any manual with my last 3-4 desktops (ever since I started to build them myself)...

Odd, every mobo I've bought (most recently about a year ago) has came with a decent sized manual.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
