A while ago we all got new PCs at work with SSD drives. Some silly person decided to install everything on the ssd and leave the hdd completely empty so "our apps would start really fast". There's only enough space on the ssd now for one or two working copies of our code but if I ever decided to start either sql server 2005 or 2008 which they kindly installed (I'm a linux programmer, I have no need for either thankfully) or Power Point I'll be so happy to potentially save a second of my life while I wait for my compilation. What a bunch of knob jockeys.

Be fair - the PP users probably feel the same about your Linux apps taking up space they could use for their pretty presentations.

Ones that have to produce, or at least review their PMs, talking points for the customers.
Seriously though, I assume the dev image was the standard corporate image + dev tools and not something build up from scratch.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies.
