I'm always surprised that Android does not have this built in. My wife has an old pre-Android phone, and when she sets it to silent it allows her to give a timeout value, after which the sounds are automatically set on again.

Since you do remember to mute your phone, if you Android 5 or higher, there is an easy solution. On the main lock screen, try to change the volume. When you do a sub-screen will show up where you can change your phone to Priority Mode[^] for up to 8 hours. Then it won't ring for 8 hours and auto turn off at the end of that time.

I have 5.0; but it looks like HTC has skinned priority mode out of existence on my phone.  I get a popup with just the master slider and a gear button. The latter lets me adjust volumes for a few other things independently of the master volume but doesn't have anything that looks like what Gizmodo's showing. In any event, I'd need a 9 hour mute time.

I use Ring Scheduler. It allows you to set times to mute / change volume and you can do it for set days of the week or every day. I've set it once and never had to worry about it again. It is easy to cancel the setting for a given time by just adjusting the phone settings as you normally would.

A time based scheduler'd fail on days I'm working from home; which is why I initially asked about a location based one.

Today i realized, again, that sometimes I should keep my ideas for myself.
As some may still know, I am currently developing (solo) a Project-Management-Tool that is perfectly set for the company i work at. There is a lot to do and I came up with some pretty cool ideas but now after looking back those 1,5 years of programming and headaches for implementation i faced a new fear. After the first "prototype presentation" to project leaders the workload did more than double itself. Well now it's not only projectmanagement but also a complete workspace for everyone with integrated messenger and notification system. Displaying all Vacation, Meetings, Tasks in a fully customizable Shedule and a lot of additional stuff that is a huge load to break your brain. I estimated another 2 man-years to come up those changes, that's not even overestimated, i think it's to low if they come up with anything new.
Mondays are bad 
Anyone has some advice how to pull the brakes if superfancyweneedthaturgentZ ideas come up again?
