Before I was "retired," I had a great gig. I came to work and put in 8+ hours doing my hobby. The best part about it was they actually PAID me to do it!  Work??? I didn't work, I did my hobby!!

I really miss being "in the game." Unfortunately, out here there are few opportunities. I am seriously considering some open source work and are looking at companies that allow remote employment.
My current biggest problem is that my wife has a long list of things she wants done and I am spending much of my time working down the list!!

We use slack within the development team for the days that we work at home as the policy is 2 days at home and 3 in the office.
we also did have it setup before the rebrand to azure devops so that pull request were posted our slack channel.
Every day, thousands of innocent plants are killed by vegetarians.

I was just introduced to this idea: "Blue Monday" is the most depressing day of the year.
There is an equation which calculates when it is:
TQ * (W + (D - d))

Where:
W - weather
D - debt level
d - monthly salary
T - time since Christmas
Q - time since failing our new year's resolutions
M - low motivational level
Na - the feeling of a need to take action
Not sure I can work out the result myself, but hey! That's science* for you.

Author says: True story. I was looking for a system that would help 7-year olds teach themselves programming. Hey it's 2018, right? After looking through what's available, the two major issues that I have with the current tools are: 1) Many of them require the Internet (too dangerous for self learning) 2) most, if not all, of them are drag and drop. I wanted a non-distracting environment where the kids practice reading and writing while learning to program. The sensation of causing an action simply by typing a word is priceless.
I don't know. Maybe just use JavaScript in a browser to teach. It's much more relevant and has far fewer barriers to entry.
I mean I would've really liked this book back in 1990 or before, but not sure this one will have a market.
