Please anyone here can explain to me what is happening to this site www.scribd.com , I can access it and all its sub-sites with my cellphone using Opera Mini browser but not with my laptop using any browser, even I tried pinging that address and there wasn't any reply. I also tried connecting my laptop to my cellphone via bluetooth and use the cellphone as a modern to connect to the Internet, then tried pinging the www.scribd.com but it was the same, that means there is nothing wrong with my Internet connection (my cellphone uses that connection and is able to access that site).
I've accessed to that web site successfully some times before.
Do you have any experience in this issue? Please help me out. Your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
Looks like a DNS problem. try changing DNS server to google's public DNS. It is 220.127.116.11 (sometimes your ISP's dns servers do not update frequently)
Also Opera mini (I might be wrong), shows pages optimized for mobile from opera servers, so it is not actually requested from client side. means it is not using your DNS server and you can access the site using Opera mini but not using any other devices.
I got access to this website on laptop but can't access this specific website on mobile through Operamini 6.5 therefore I downloaded UCbrowser then i got access. Is this is a server problem or something else.
For computer you can check your antivirus site block management or change DNS as above said by the another guy
what happens if any accepted answer is downvoted. Also it was upvoted by a expert(40 points).
I am also downvoted for every question answered today when i told that guy We do not do your homework here at code project.
If the slap of continued down-votes doesn't cause them to re-examine their question asking 'skills', then you just ignore them and give them nothing. Deleting the question means it isn't there anymore - dissallowing any further downvotes to punish the poster - it also _removes_ any downvotes they've already accrued from the question.
You can also re-tag the question as being 'homework' 'gimmeCodez' or something else suitably descriptive and er, 'flattering'
On the rare occasion that this behaviour is not understood and is questioned directly by the poster, I try to make an effort to do both of (a) point out the aspects of the post that are likely to incense the locals (b) offer a suggestion for a different approach that has the same goal.
I'm continually surprised by (a) the number of people that dont 'get it' and so ask questions about their harsh treatment and (b) the number of times the answers to these questions appear to be heeded.
A 'like' button without a 'dislike' button does not a useful feedback system make.. (cough, cough FB)
