Sometimes I have to take the car on Monday at 2:00AM to arrive at some customer workshop at 9:00AM, when that is the case, taking care of speed limits, finding your way with the GPS and driving in general becomes a sunshine.
In those cases, ONLY IN THOSE CASES, I would love the car to drive for me.

So you never fly ? Or do you belong to the people who think that the pilots are actually still doing something that has to do with flight control whatsoever ?

I'd love to be able to do something useful during my daily commutes; and not to have to choose between spending a full day behind the wheel or being molested by the theatrical security agency every time I vacation. I'd gladly pay double what I did for my last car if my new one would drive itself.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Yep. Every time I beat my clothes against a rock in the stream to clean them and then hang them on a tree to dry I revel in the control that I have.

Shoot. Having trouble tracking down the 70s movie with a car thief who uses a remote control. As far as I recall it starred Tyne Daly, so it may be Speedtrap

Isn't that the plot of Herbie Goes Bananas?

No. Knight Rider, where the car obviously was a Cylon that was smart enough to drive (pun intended) Hasselhoff into alcoholism.

Those sound like underwear.
I need pants - or is 'pants' the English word for underwear?

Indeed it is.
Then you are referring to your trousafloobles rather than your kecks?
