The reason someone might (which is what the quote says) have put a piece of software in a very small space is because they needed that functionality, that was all the space they had and they managed to create a solution.
Which is no different than anyone else solving some need.
Now it could be that in fact that very specific piece of functionality was very, very clever. But there were many people doing clever things when space was very limited.
Doesn't mean people do not do clever things now. And where it is really clever and satisfies all of the needs of the business and isn't just a demonstration of how "clever" the programmer is.

I guess I am either naive or believer in supernatural.
People are different, as I see you are pragmatic while I more of a dreamer, one of the things that I really don't understand is how the payment dictates the creativity of artists/coders to such extent that it became the primary not only concern but the motivation itself, this is sickness in my eyes, I believe in power of human inner sensitivity (not intelligence) in other words: soul - something uncontrollable by money.

So there's thunder in the distance and suddenly purple lightening fills the sky - half a minute later a wind rips through the street, the strength of which I have never witnessed before, knocking off roof tiles, overturning bins and even garden sheds!
There's around two inches of water outside the front door as if it was just dumped from the sky in 5 seconds.
I think a mini cyclone just passed through Cambridge UK 
...or maybe it's the upcoming tribulation...
Just been out to look at the roof of my flat and there are a few tiles missing from it.

We had something similar over here in Woking about the same time. At least part of a large tree was knocked over just up the road from where we live, and lots of other detritus scattered around.

In spite of how it is being reported by some news channels my experience is that it wasn't just a strong wind it was a very sudden and extremely high energy squall.
What leads me to thinking it was a cyclone/tornado was the incredibly sudden onset of the high wind and it's very fast end - I went out to the kitchen and saw one roofing tile, which much weigh around 1kg, flying through the air I don't think I'll lose too many man points in admitting that a slight wobble of the upper lip occurred too.

...and in Kent too, about an hour later. All was calm & serene, then sudden severe winds, lightening & hail. Lasted no more than 5 mins but apparently trains are in chaos because of trees down on the tracks all over the place...

So, something happened to this article of mine[^], and the images disappeared. Since I don't often read my own articles, I didn't know, until this elephant gave it a 1 vote because he didn't understand it without pictures (which, I admit, is slightly dificult).

It's a blog post article, and the images have disappeared there, when I changed hosts, so Sean won't be able to help, but I've already restored all but the last one. I'll just recreate it if I have to.

BTW, the last image ought to be bigger, it seems like it's the most important pic and it's not very readable.

Thanks for the feedback Marc. Unfortunately the image is small, and stretching a bitmap is a smelly affair. I am hard at work recreating some images and will update soonest.

But for missing images or such, I wouldn't downvote, I'd report it.

Downvotes reflect the reader's experience. If it was obvious to the reader that the missing images were because of broken links or other publishing glitch then no, a downvote is out of order.
On the other hand, if it looked as though you just hadn't bothered to publish the images that were needed to understand the article properly, then it's understandable.
The images are there now, so I can' judge what it looked like - but gave you a 5 to compensate

In order to get money to send their sympathy. Masai, although not these days, are away from the World we live in. Their folk who came back from abroad would have told them the easier way. Cow has a really big importance in entire African culture. It is extremely different from Hindu (in India) culture though.
