I'm just learning Python and I've got to say I really like it but I still think C would be a good first language to learn because of all the embedded system out there and coming?

Just how difficult do these people find it to press F5? 
I assume they mean "You can type any old rubbish and it'll do something anyway" as opposed to the difficulty of actually having to make it understandable to the machine in some way?

love(?) of languages that do something no matter what (VB) is it such a good idea, really???
The first programming language I felt 'happy' with was C, though I had lots of BBC Basic, AMOS & C64 Basic/Assembly experience...

As far as teaching languages, as far I have seen, C hasn't been up there for years, perhaps decades. Not in the US at least.

A couple of years ago, the Beeb showed Bruce Springsteen's "Seeger Sessions" documentary. Featured were some 12 or so other musicians playing traditional songs as well as some of Seeger's own. It was fine music played by skilled musicians. Very enjoyable.

A group of men and women were visiting the Niagara falls. The sound intensity of the falls is so high that even if 20 supersonic planes pass by together, you wouldn't hear their noise."
