I'll balance you out on this one, perhaps we can assuage each-other's guilt.
I had a similar respect for Enoch Powell*. I heard him speak & debate at the Durham Union Society, on the subject of Northern Ireland. During the debating section he was obviously showing signs of age, it took a few seconds for questions to register and for him to think about a response, but the reply was always incredibly lucid and properly thought-through. He repeatedly demolished someone in my year & college who kept trying to make a "clever" point, it was like watching the intellectual equivalent of an ant showing off in front of a steamroller. In his heyday he must have been first-rate.
Obviously, I should point out I don't agree with his politics at all, but had a sneaking regard for the man.
*To broach the thorny topic of the "Rivers of Blood" speech - I suggest reading it in its entirety, to quote wikipedia "The future Labour Michael Foot remarked to a reporter that it was "tragic" that this "outstanding personality" had been widely misunderstood as predicting actual bloodshed in Britain, when in fact he had used the Aeneid quotation merely to communicate his own sense of foreboding."

I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago at a demonstration.
I suspect one of the last true conviction politicians to enter Westminster. Nowadays it seems to be run on hot air.

I met him once at a reception and very pleasant he was too; this was about 5 years ago. Fascinating man who was able to empathise with most and yet never compromised on his own beliefs.

I'm really saddened by this, much for the reasons you describe.
I used to play in brass bands, and he was for a long time the only senior Labour politico to turn up to the Durham Miner's Gala. I actually forewent the obligatory Lunchtime heavy drinking session to hear him speak.

"Go on," said the teacher, intrigued.
"Aunt Karen drank the whisky on the way down to prepare herself; then she landed right in the middle of a hundred enemy soldiers.
She killed seventy of them with the machine gun until she ran out of bullets. Then she killed twenty more with the machete till the blade broke. And then she killed the last ten with her bare hands."
"Good heavens," said the horrified teacher, "What did your father say was the moral of that frightening story?"
"Stay away from Aunt Karen when she's drunk."

Cooking oil is good - there are so many things you can do with it. Including frying things!

Philippine food is good. Unlike from Malaysia (or is it from Thailand/Vietnam? I can't recall), our food is not that exotic.
We also have burgers and fries (courtesy of US influence).
We love to do some experiments when it comes to food and advertise new dishes. And I can assure you, aside from it's edible, it tastes great! 
Unluckily for me, I wasn't given the gift of cooking.

No - I kind of circled it! Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan but I missed the one in the middle!
Thai food is spicier than Malay, but Malay includes a lot of Chinese / South Indian influences.
Vegetable curry and rice pancakes for breakfast - wakes you up fast!

I have a small coin collection, nothing too serious, and when there was a local coin fair in town, I took some of my one cent coins (no longer legal tender) with me to see if I could get them valued.
A very nice chap looked at them and essentially split them into two piles - one small pile of rare coins, the other of, frankly, not in the least bit rare coins.
Walking round the hall, I came across a stand selling coins made into jewellery - and what with the wife's birthday round the corner, thought I might try to buy one with her birth-date on.
After a bit of haggling, we settled on a price, upon which I realised I hadn't brought my wallet !
I was in a quandary for a moment, then had an idea - and managed to leave the exhibition with the gift for Mrs Maxxx.
Of course - I used my common cents.
