All in all, I find XP to be the most stable version of Windows in my experience.

I have equipment and software (that I spent more on than the wife thinks I should have) that runs better on XP for recording music Also the XP drivers are more stable for the multichanneel audio IO. The system is optimized for recording and has worked flawlessly for years. Of course part of the optimization is turning off all networking services and running without AV.

Since it is a stand-alone system I should not have to be concerned about security issues. That, and I have it imaged so if for any reason, or for hard drive upgrades I can simply replace the image and be ready to go in short order.

I'm sad to see it go. Sigh | :sigh:
It was broke, so I fixed it.
