I think I did about 1/3 of a cross country run, then I just didn't turn up for sport "lessons" again...got reasonable reports each year as well, so I'm not sure who he was marking...

Our school cross country course was [0] about 3 miles, [1] went past my front door and [2] used the woodlands I'd played in since I was 4.
Needless to say I never stopped at home for a can of coke and some bikits, and then rejoined the rest near to the finish.

I guess today the cross country runs have heavy police escorts with air support and full medical trauma team on call

School cross country running is something that people are only ever made to do, never something anyone wants to do. I don't understand why it's on any PE curricula.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have. If I would have been a runner when I was in school, I think I would have been far more able to deal with the great steaming piles of sh*t I got from my classmates.
