I've been using it for a long time without issues, even under Windows 8.x but ever since I installed that 'Windows 8.1 Update' that they forced us to install or we'd stop receiving patches, it has been buggy. Sometimes it doesn't load on the other computer until you log in, etc.

One thing I found since installing Visual Studio 2013, instead of communicating through my Network Interface Card, Mouse Without Borders was trying to communicate through a "Hyper-V Virtual Network Adapter"...you should verify what NIC it is trying to communicate through...if it's Hyper-V, then change it back to your physical NIC.

I made the mistake of adding development for Windows Phone when I installed VS2013.

Latest installed... it should work as always...but it doesn't want to...

I've been able to see:

1. If I try to connect from my latptop to my desktop it works until I change the display positions (my laptop is at left and my desktop at right).
2. If I try to connect from my desktop to my latop it doesn't works.
3. usually it times out.
4. I've ensured that firewall is not the issue adding manually the executables there and disabling it.
5. It is using the right NIC. (This also happens if you install VMware or other virtual machine systems).

Sigh | :sigh:

I've ended up installing synergy, but it is much less powerful... by now it is slower and it can't share the clipboard...

I hope I'll be able to find out a solution...

One last thing you can try when you have a chance is using IP addresses on the 'IP Mappings' tab instead of Computer Names?

I've done it this way:

desktop_name xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
laptop_name yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy

and exactly the same result...

You've probably done this already but maybe un-install and re-install to re-enable the firewall exceptions and such?

There is a Mouse Without Borders support forum...the guy that wrote it hangs out there...I've dealt with him, he's quite helpful...

So I just pre-ordered The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt[^].
I still need to play parts 1 and 2 (which I also got on GOG.com). I started 1, but never finished it because I got other priorities at the time. Great game though, I'm planning on starting over and finishing it some time soon Smile | :)

Anyway, I got a code to get Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition[^] for free, but I already own it.

I already have Witcher 1 + 2 (thanks to GoG and the various sales) since I'd read the books by Andrzej Sapkowski:

Reading the latter took all the fun out of reading the former Sigh | :sigh:

I now only read when I'm on vacation.

It took me some time to get used to the controls in The Witcher 1 as well. When I got used to them it was worth it though.

I just got frustrated with it: IIRC I couldn't see what I was trying to hit in that first castle - the camera kept spinning round like an idiot and showing me a wall while the bad guy(s) slowly staved the back of my head in... Laugh | :laugh:

Hi All,
It looks like I am going to have to put my hands in a recruitment agent again (UK South West). More pointless filling in of forms... any recommendations as who to avoid based on last times experience Reed seemed to be the one to avoid...

I had that opinion before the TV ads. I had an interview with them "Oh yes, well get back to you..." didn't and when I question it "oh you had person X, he doesn't work for us anymore, if you would like to interview with us again..." Hmmm | :|
