I feel if we immediately burned all lawyers at the stake right now, in one bloodless revolution (1), that Western Civilization would probably last another 200 years. If we don't take this action Western Civilization will be stomped out by more advanced civilizations - like those in North Korea, Iran, or Syria - you know, places where no matter how backwards they otherwise are they've the decency to occasionally identify forked tongued devils and murder them on the spot.
I cleaned that up a little bit because I don't care to offend anyone.

Rough Day: I hit the stairwell to drop down to the 2nd floor so I could get some ice water but Scott pulled me aside to complain about his shoes. Turns out he cannot find shoes online that match his purple polo. I suggested he start his own shoe company. Long story short, I ended up walking down to the 1st floor which means I had to go up a flight of stairs or ride the elevator with the gabby girls from accounting - a classic no-win situation that makes me doubt the existence of God.

The accounting girls ride the elevator 'Up' whereas the developers ride the elevator 'Down' into the basement where they belong.
I was going 'Up'.
But yes, if I had a choice I would go with the developers because I can hold my breath while the unwashed scraggly haired dude in the BBQ stained T-Shirt tells me about his trip to Comic-Con. He won't require a response and likely doesn't even know I'm there; however, the gals from accounting ask questions like "How is the weather?" and "Are you doing anything this weekend?" to which I reply, "If it rains this weekend it means I have to bury the bodies in my basement but if it is sunny I'll put 'em outside".

I misread that as "gassy girls from accounting" - in which case I could well understand not wanting to take the lift (elevator).
(Note, in the UK, having a gas is slang for having a chat, so it wasn't infeasible).

Hi All,
I post a question about the recruitment agency use of Monster, finding real jobs on Monster etc. Somebody I didn't recognise (probably a US member by the time...) suggested a site called Dice. The Dice site is very US centric and I was wondering if there was a UK equivalent...

Its a difficult one, when I was looking for a job prior to the one I have.
I tried monster and got called by many different agencies that trawled through it. I found the same with indeed.
The only thing I found better was to trawl through the recruitment agencies themselves one by one and keep the better ones on a list for potential future job hunts.
Computer Futures was one that I had good results / feedback from.
Evolution was another good.
both of these companies gave me so much ammo before the interview that my chances of 2nd round interviews were always high.

Hmm, what I was thinking. Indeed are a strange one, I was going through recruitment agencies web sites, Jobserve is my friends who contact for use but I haven't seen much on it.

Figure out where a local biggish IT company is and find the nearest pub 
|
|
|

For developer jobs I usually find more advertised on http://www.cwjobs.co.uk/[^].
I've never applied for anything advertised there ..... yet! - so I don't know anything else about them.
... good luck in finding something good soon.

i've had a couple of decent contracts via cwjobs.co.uk seems to be the most active compared to reed etc..
needs a facelift though!
