It seems that 3.0 PCIe supported only with 3rd generation of i5...However it seems that the board supported anyway...

Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I'm 99% sure the front SD slot is connected via a standard mobo USB2 header; in which case you should be fine unless the case also has 4 front panel USB ports. The new board appears to only has 2 USB headers; while the HP board's specs seem to imply it has 3 headers, or it could be 3 front panel USB ports and the SD reader in place of port 4 (2 ports/header).
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Thank you Dan, did not had any idea about that...
It looks I should be able to change one motherboard for another one without much hassle after all...

The One thing I noticed from the two Picture is that the new motherboard had the extra square power connector and I did not see it on the old board, so will the power supply support the new board?
|
|
|
|
|
I guess it will suport it as the PSU has been changed for a newer and bigger one...
But which connector do you mean? I've not seen any difference in terms of power connectors...
Thanks!

|
|
|

The PSU was already changed and there are free cables there but in the HP board there is the same connector (middle/left of the board between the blue connector and the processor slot).
Is that one the one you were referring to?
Thank you!

Yep, good eye,
right next to the sticker, I missed it the first few times I looked at that board.

No worries then... Thank you!

I think there should be a Forum on CP named "Murt" for all problems with hardware or relatives.
«I'm asked why doesn't C# implement feature X all the time. The answer's always the same: because no one ever designed, specified, implemented, tested, documented, shipped that feature. All six of those things are necessary to make a feature happen. They all cost huge amounts of time, effort and money.» Eric Lippert, Microsoft, 2009

Ah, for 10 more years, I look forward to you adding comments about your brother in-laws computer
About the BIOS booting up in error. See if the BIOS has a motherboard based Video Card.
If so, Disable that. Usually the Hanging BIOS is caused by POST process...
Also, if the Video is Motherboard based, you might have to simply change its interrupts if it does not allow it to be disabled.
One way to verify this is to try to use both connectors to drive 2 monitors... See if it boots differently....

The day it all started was March 6,1836…
On that fateful day, Davy Crockett woke up and rose from his bunk on the main floor of the Alamo, and walked up to the observation post along the west wall of the fort.
William B. Travis and Jim Bowie were already there, looking out over the top of the wall. These three great men gazed at the hordes of Mexicans moving towards the Alamo.
With a puzzled look on his face, Crockett turned to Bowie and said, “Jim, are we, by any chance, having any landscaping done today?”
Hope springs eternal, they say...

I have had a Saturday job for over 6 years now at a storage outfit. 90% of the time I'm there I am writing code or lurking here. Anyhow, I just found a workgroup printer (Xerox Phaser 7300DT) in a vacated unit. I plugged it in and it still works, printing out a startup page. I checked on ebay and used ones are going from USD $700 up to $1300. My back doesn't want anything to do with it, but it would be cool to have it in the home/office for awhile, then sell it. What would you do?
Edited 2015-02-02: Thanks for the replies! Although I was certain the printer had been abandoned (along with a crappy set of knockoff irons/fairway metals) I left it overnight just to make sure. I went back yesterday with the appropriate equipment and retrieved it.
Now, for anyone questioning the legality, I should probably give a few more facts:
0) the unit was on the watchlist for move-outs that day, meaning the tenant had already advised us that they would be out by that date.
1) the unit was already reserved for another tenant who thankfully did not show up until today
2) part of the job is disposing of any items left behind
3) I left notes regarding the printer in that tenant's notes and also verbally informed the facility manager this morning about the situation
Currently the 150 pound behemoth is sitting in my garage while I build a stand for it.

That depends on what the laws are. Either the printer still belongs to the renter or it now belongs to the storage unit itself (when the entire unit contents goes to auction) or it belongs to the storage company (may auction items in the unit). In any case, you're stealing it. The question now becomes what happens to you if you're caught stealing a value of $1,300?
