The function of the OS is to allow you to use hardware and software that you own -- and "software" includes drivers.
THEIR OS is not more important than my work or my property. I shall not be using or paying MS a penny for anything new they produce until they get that perspective back into their "OUR OS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU" arrogant heads.
They should start the machine, let me see where my apps and files are, then get out of my f****** way.

The best way to convert is always not to convert. The architecture is too different to make any attempt at converting worthwhile.

You want to convert a vb non-web app to vb.net, but what you really want is a C# web app? Like others have said, start over. I doubt very much that even the business logic can be re-used.

To avoid years of endless pain, I would recommend that you rewrite it in C# or C++.

So, scrap what you've got and rewrite it from scratch in C# with ASP.NET or ASP.NET/MVC.
What's stopping you from doing that?
There really isn't any reference for a conversion from the old VBs.
