MIDI out setter[^] 
Because Microsoft decided to do away with the MIDI mapper from Vista onwards.
This is the only one that worked. Even MS's community forum only gives us some rubbish about selecting a (nonexistent) device in sound settings.

I've just cleaned up some workaround methods (275 instances) related to the bug in string.IsNullOrEmpty that was fixed around 2004.
What's the oldest issue you've fixed up recently?

According to StackOverflow[^], it was fixed in 2.0 SP1, so somewhere around November 2007.
The hotfix[^] seems to have been released in August 2007, so that fits.

You're right: I did get my dates mixed up.
Well that ruins a good story, doesn't it. Merely 9 years old. That bug is small enough I should throw it back in the pond.

I spent October through December smearing a ribbon ( of lipstick on an app whose late 90s MFC version was a window of lipstick applied around a C/X-Windows/(probably) Slowlaris application.
It would be easier to list the things in that app we changed that weren't issues. (I'm pretty sure the exhaustive list for the latter was to write a new installer.)

I still occasionally tweak a C++ app I wrote some 20+ years ago. Custom TCP/IP comms, named pipes, etc.

I got an email last month from an ex client asking about an app I wrote in SuperBase in the mid 90's, astonishingly he is still using it on an old 486. He runs a small tyre shop in the boonies!

Not sure if this counts but I've just finished working out the kinks to replace a SFX tool from 2001! (MakeSFX) I'd say we got our money's worth from that one! If I remember correctly, it was open source and I made a $35 donation.

In fact, I googled it a couple of months back. I don't even code much anymore.
