Yeah some people can't handle reality. One guy posted some whining yesterday because he asked if some code he found would fulfill the requirements of his homework assignment. I told him to try himself, and that is all I said, and find out himself and he didn't like that. I had to train my (lovably) girlfriend for the programming classes (she came from an entirely different background and was studying for a barely related degree) and even she, a normally thick skinned person, took offence at "try it yourself".
Many people just don't get that programming, like writing, painting, playing instruments, fixing stuff, shooting, fighting, speaking a language, etc can only be improved by experience and time. Try it, fail it, try again, bang your head, curse, hate it, try again... until you either give up or are expert enough to navigate out of most situations.
