I stream all my news - so I see the variations on how it's covered throughout the world.
The BBC, EuroNews, SkyNews. There's a common thread. They've taken sides. They've influenced the populous. Leave out a little here. Diminish with some justification there. It wasn't your restaurants having families blown up at a holiday meal. Those who did it must have a right to be angry about something. Right? Cheer them on a bit and they'll leave us alone.
So long as it wasn't happening your their back yard.

That's pretty much about it Brent. I don't have a ready-made-solution. However, here are some essential starting points.
- Identify the enemy as Islamism (i.e., Islamic totalitarianism), for which terrorism is one tactic.
- Proclaim the objective superiority, imperfect though it is, of Western liberalism.

How about taking effective action to stop these kind of people coming into the country in the first place?
How about enforcing the rule of law equally to everyone in the UK rather than allowing exceptions for this, blind eyes for that (Sharia court, FGM, knife carrying, human traficking, drug dealing, child marriages, wholesale grooming and rape of minors, forcing the country to eat halal meat, etc)?
FFS, this is Britain! Come here and live like us if you like, you're more than welcome. But don't come here, get a free house (on welfare), free health care (on welfare), free education (on welfare), free money (on welfare) and then protest and complain about everything and try and change us to be like the very place you left behind. 
Now is it bad enough that you let somebody else kick your butts without you trying to do it to each other? Now if we're all talking about the same man, and I think we are... it appears he's got a rather growing collection of our bikes.

Yep. Although re: the first sentence it's too late in that Islamist terrorists in the West are almost always home-grown rather than new arrivals. But it does yield the question: should we store up future problems? Hmm, perhaps not.

The Manchester bomber was the son of Libyan asylum seekers. Perhaps there should be some kind of law that would hold up to 3 generations of immigrants responsible for their family's behaviour? Three strikes and deported perhaps?

At the risk of bordering on the SoapBox, those who send them were targeted directly by the Israelis. They were condemned by the international community for "assassinations". Now "everyone" send drones to do it and it's become OK. Funny how that works, but, once the leaders were turning up dead they scream and yell plenty.
So, perhaps I answer my own question, and cause my own refrain: those who profit from this, and they do, as it gives them profit in power and wealth - the world is better when they're not in it. So, they, they beat me - because I'd feed their loathsome carcasses to animals and video it for their followers to see. Even the low-level-drones; so the other drones can see what's in store for them. And they'll scream and yell and curse at our inhumanity . . . and then plant yet another bomb to kill families in restaurants or children at a rock concert.
And now I'm part of it. When will we ever learn?

Indeed a subject for the soapbox. But to answer your question: That's politics. Dirty business must be done all the time. That's no problem. Someone getting caught in the act merely opens opportunities for others to get the upper hand in other messy business. Don't look for morals or any deeper logic.

When they get caught, they either are hanged by someone who needs to show the rest of the world what a great guy he is, or they are hanged by someone who has greatest interest in preventing them from saying too much. Person by person, the sadness is the same for all. Senseless death. Lost potential. Unfulfilled dreams.
Somehow, I see a difference if some lunatic is inspired to drive on a sidewalk to run down whoever is unfortunate enough to be there with no purpose other than to kill. Or pull a knife or scissor and stab the person next to you because they're not your religion. Or a bomb in at a concert.
But - you're right. When Taliban and al Quida and Da'ach are killed, I've no sympathy for their parents.
When I saw a Kurdish village gassed by Saddam Hussein on TV - I actually cried. There's context. If an equal number were killed in battle - I doubt the effect on me would be the same.
You go on - pretend all acts that have the same result are equal. Everything has a context. Evil is no less evil. Context doesn't need race or religion. Some day you'll figure that out.
Until then, use you flimsy excuse of one tragedy to absolve yourself from feeling anything for another.

Not logical in that I did, with the very start of the thread, show empathy.
On the other hand - his call for me to not bother is a strong implication that that is the route he chooses for this event and uses Syria's tragedy as a cover.
