Raspbian for me. I have about a dozen devices, consisting of about half of the all models ever available.

Me too. I wanted Ubuntu MATE, but more importantly I want to be using and learning by Pi. After one or two failed attempts to get that to boot off the SD, I went write back to NOOBS, and chose to install Raspbian. Within 20 minutes of giving up on Ubuntu, I had a running Pi.

I've started getting popups (winten) regarding some kind of preparation for the coming Creator's Update. I've finally looked at a summary of what's new with it. Mostly stuff I probably won't use...I see they're still pushing Cortana.
The Timeline feature looks interesting. Anyone here brave enough to try it out? Cornelius?

I have it installed on two machines. The UX hasn'the changed much, if at all. The only bug that I've noticed is that CD/play list titles in the Media Player appear corrupted. I can't remember if this was true of the previous build.

I had this shoved down the line months ago - made no difference to me, I create software not artwork. Complete waste of time.

Yes, I did try the pre-release version of the next Creator's Update a week or so ago. It seemed to work fine, until I tried to get into my bank account using the new Edge. I keep my passwords long and very complex and store them in an encrypted Excel spreadsheet. Then I copy and paste them into the password box on the bank's website. They are too long and involved to type them in character-by-character.
The problem with the new pre-release Edge: It does not allow you to paste passwords using [CTRL]-V. It does not work. You have to right-click the password box and select "Paste" using your mouse.
My problem: The Bank of America website does not give you the option to copy and paste using your mouse. You have to use [CTRL]-V! Aaaaargh!
So the new pre-release effectively shut me out of my Bank of America accounts.
So I reported the issue to Microsoft and went back to the previous version of Windows 10 that worked. I may try it again with a future release. I don't want to have to switch to Chrome.
I used the pre-release so briefly that I don't really have anything else to report.
By the way: A few threads up Eddy Vluggen mentions using the MVPS Hosts file to block commercials. I have used it over a year and it works great.

I assume they still have that awesome feature that resets your preferences back to Edge every time you glance away from your screen?
Seriously Microsoft: stop it. I don't want Edge. You had 15 years of my time with IE and you squandered it. We're done. It's not me, it's you.

I still use IE instead of Edge but what bugs me is that even though I have a home page set to Google, starting a new tab wants me to use Bing instead...and I noticed it has started giving me a bunch of celebrity breaking news as well...quickly fixed by a click on the homepage icon. One of these days I will get around to fixing that.

In IE if you click the down arrow on the right side of the address bar, there are icons for the other installed search engines and an "Add" button to add new search engines.

I started to use Edge, and didn't mind it. Then when I realized it starting hijacking my preferences that was the end for it. It's actually like MS is purposely pushing people to use Chrome. And of course when friends who are not developers ask us for advice, guess what we recommend?
And yes Chris, they still have that awesome feature at least on my machine!

"Former Top Gear host..." a quick plug for the [inferior] product?
Why not "TV personality" (he's done others beyond TGT/TG), or "[Popular] Automobile Journalist," or ...
BTW, does anyone here watch TG? I heard they had another season but damned if I can find anyone who watched it yet.

We watched the first five minutes of the first episode of season 2, and decided that watching paint dry would be more entertaining.
The Grand Tour however ... despite some weak parts it worked, and it was "Top Gear with a bigger budget and knobs on".

I gave Grand Tour away after they spent 3 days in a dessert and didn't refuel once. And as for the exploding celebrity, that gets old really fast.

Yeah, the dying celebrity got dull by about the first time.
But these things take a while to buff up to a polished program - I'm pretty sure series two will be better!

Quote: I'm pretty sure series two will be better! Ah, the eternal optimism of a techie. "The next version will be better." Riiiiight.
Frankly the three of them seem to be getting a little long in the tooth.
I subscribed to Amazon Prime Video for that series alone and felt disappointed.
I hope you're correct, though. I do enjoy their cleverness when they're on their game.
(Yeah, mea culpa. I'm a techie and eternal optimist also.)

Ah but all these shows are scripted, even the shows on History like Pawn Stars.
Agree the exploding guest in Grand Tour is a fail, they were dicing with elements of Top Gear which they're not allowed to do and it failed, really hope S2 looses that.
Why GT is good: because it's Clarkson, May and Hammond being Clarkson May and Hammond.
Why TG failed: it's (?) and sometimes LeBlanc trying to be Clarkson May and Hammond [and failing big time].
(In LeBlanc's favour he is actually OK when he's allowed to be LeBlanc, the other guy though: not only is it: "who is he?" but concurrently "who is he trying to be?")
