Condolences. Lost my dad in 1987 to renal cancer. Hardest part was I missed him passing by minutes... sigh. Now that I'm a grandad and most of my children are 18+, I have so many questions for him. He's so much smarter now...

Yes, this year they were delicious, especially considerating that we didn't prepare them traditionally in oil, but in the air-fryer instead. A lot healthier too !

(assuming you also followed the part of the tradition of making way too many... so after a week or so there's no way you feel like eating them again till maybe about a year later.)

We just heat them up a few minutes in the air fryer again, the outside tastes a bit dry compared to traditional oliebollen, but if you want you can put a some oil on them.

No, that's something totally different, but bonus points for knowing the word.
Poffertjes are smaller and typically baked together in a special cast-iron pan with a lot of small indentations. They are like mini pancakes ...
