Really? The ones I use[^] don't run hot at all. Right after landing they can be touched and feel only slightly warm. Under the helicopter's canopy there is not really a strong stream of air to cool it. Just look at these values:

Well this to drive spindle in a test rig with not much air flow in a sealed chamber. So not really a fair test...

Sure, but I don't really see a reason why they should be hotter than regular brushed motors. They also just have coils and magnets. The big difference is that they have no brushes that can wear out and therefore last longer.
