I didn't feel so lucky when Nika pooped on my stairs yesterday and left a trail of poop on my stairs and down the hallway 
Or when I heard her throwing up somewhere in the house this morning while I was laying in bed (still haven't found it) 
But when I'm sitting on the couch or laying in bed and Nika comes to cuddle up, all is forgiven

If she continues to poop outside her box, get her to a vet. From first-hand experience, it might be a parasite which can be fatal to younger kittens.

With 10 years old Nika isn't exactly a kitten
She probably just came off the litterbox and either had it hanging from her fur or didn't finish properly.
Maybe she got scared when she heard me opening the door? She scares VERY easily, even from me. Her first seven years probably weren't all that good (I got her from the shelter).
She keeps getting better though, she now loves to cuddle and last week she even licked my face (I'm not going to think about where that tongue has been, dammit now I'm thinking about it )

(I have a two year old cat that my dog - who was owner surrendered for 'killing cats' - found at the side of the road when the cat was about 5 weeks old. Kit Cat won't cuddle, but will sleep between my legs! And if the dog goes into the front room in the middle of the night, Kit Cat will follow her  ! So much for loving the one who keeps the roof on her head.  Sounds like your cat and you got lucky! All the cats I've known were naturally scared to an extent - hope yours continues becoming less scared.)

I'm guessing it was, because they didn't have time for her. But that is just a guess based on the fact she was house broken, and I've never had any problems with her as far as aggression, getting into food, getting into the garbage, or anything else, except for the first time I left her in the apartment for 8 hours straight, when I came home to an 18" diameter pile of shredded papers and junk from the garbage, which was no big deal. And that never happened again because she now knows I'm coming back.
She LOVES to hunt, and I can easily see her taking out a cat if I didn't leash her on walks. But because I put limits on her, she doesn't. And if I don't take her walking/jogging, I'm pretty certain she would get to antsy to control, and the apartment would suffer the consequences.
The beginning was a sad story, because she was an hour away from being euthanized before my apartment manager rescued her. Had a bad case of kennel cough and worms. I fostered her, and stayed up with her while she coughed blood onto the carpet. But she got better in a few days, and became super attached, so I couldn't let her go.
She is the one who found Kit Cat at the side of the road, on a dark and rainy night. 2" + deep water puddles, fifteen + feet wide, and she had to take off with the kitten in her mouth. After 20 yards I caught up to her, and almost had things in control when she escaped with the kitten 20 yards at a right angle to the first leg. Finally got the kitten out of her mouth, and her leash back on her (it slipped off her neck in the initial excitement). Found out I lost my keys in the commotion. So went back to start position. Twenty minutes later I heard Kit Cat meowing - she had came back to us even after having been in Sophie's mouth! I took that to mean she wanted to live. Three days of acclimation, which took a lot of time, and they were friends. Sophie had to have soft-mouthed her in the run, which surprised me. I thought her back had been broke when she first crawled back, because her front legs were twisted with respect to her back legs. But she hadn't been harmed. I've posted a couple vids on Facebook of them playing - they will make you smile.

What race is your dog?
My grandparents had some dog breed they used for hunting (can't remember the name of the breed).
Those dogs are a lot harder to control than, say, a Golden Retriever and it did kill a bird from time to time.
I think all the dogs I've met have been really sweet and kind though.

She is a Black Mouth Cur. I did not have a lot of experience exercising her at that time, and her collar slipped off too easily. Also, she got too much of a running start, and at 80 lbs, that's a little momentum.

SSD technology is still evolving, so a new SSD is likely to be faster than one that is a few years old. Even if they are the same size, there's a good chance that you'll see a speed boost.

Kubuntu installed, Windows fonts moved over to it (because I really don't care for the Linux fonts), and as a temporary stop-gap, I copied the contents of my Windows hosts file to my Linux hosts file.
I'm currently evaluating a minimal solution for Pi-Hole. I'll probably just get a raspberry Pi and be done with it.

I usually just save DateTime.Now for a DB transaction into some datetime field. If a report or UI needs to show the date/time, it's formatted accordingly, for example MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss tt (for us US people).
So, I have a "When checked in" (start time) and I have a "When checked out" (stop time) for tracking employee hours worked. And I compute the hours/minutes/seconds worked basically as "check out time" - "check in time", displayed as "hh:mm:ss" (they don't work more than 24 hours, haha.)
So, on occasion, my time worked is off by 1 second comparing start time and stop time as hh:mm:ss.
Why? Because I of the millisecond component to date/time!
So I coded:
DateTime now = DateTime.Now;
now = now.AddMilliseconds(-now.Millisecond);
which works fine, particularly since the DB stores only 3 digits for the ms component, but out of curiosity, I google "getting DateTime without milliseconds" and come across this SO page.
And I wonder, WTF is all this crazy stuff they're doing. Lower down, I find my solution, and I read this:
The Millisecond property gives an integer between 0 and 999 (inclusive). So if the time of day before the operation was, say, 23:48:49.1234567, then that integer will be 123, and the time of day after the operation is 23:48:49.0004567. So it has not truncated to a whole number of seconds.
OMG. Seriously? OK, I guess that makes sense because underlying DateTime is actually Ticks, so subtracting off just the integer portion of the ms isn't necessarily going to give me an actual tick at exactly the second.
And to make things more complicated, there's the "Kind" -- Local, UTC, or undefined. Oh good grief.
So I'm going with the solution in one of the earlier SO posts that looks like this:
new DateTime(date.Ticks - (date.Ticks % resolution), date.Kind);
The lesson learned (over and over) is that you think something is simple, and it isn't.
The other lesson learned is, thank God for people smarter than me!

I'm afraid I'm not that pedantic with my timesheet - 1 second either way is just fine by me <snicker>.
Seriously 1 second difference in a timekeeping system, way too precise. The only system I worked on measured in 15 minute blocks.
