Can't be terribly exciting if they released some animation for this instead of what the telescope actually captured.
The article doesn't make it clear (to me) whether it "captured" anything visual. I suspect we're talking about columns of numbers. One can only get so much excitement from that.

You're probably right. If I remember right the scientist who helped them render a simulation for Interstellar had a "why of course that's what it would look like" moment after seeing it for the first time. I don't think what it looks like had ever crossed his mind before - he was probably plenty excited by the columns of numbers.

Not my impression. When I was a teenager, one "A child is born" movie (so liberal that it would have received an XXX rating in the US was seen by everybody and his cat in our country. A few years ago, the baby that was born was given a broad presentation in one of the weekend magazines, both online and printed versions; he did not have any bad feelings about being the great star in the movie without being asked for his consent ...

I do have good news; you can't buy this one any more: Bluesmart One - Smart Luggage: GPS, Remote Locking, Battery Charger [^]
Who ever thought that designing a product that contained batteries, wires, electronics, and that could talk to the internet; then put that lot into a suitcase you carry onto an aircraft as hand luggage was a good idea?
Fortunately, the airlines said: "... and the horse you rode in on, you Elephanting nutter": oooo | Bluesmart[^] - as anyone who regularly sets off alarms just from having metalwork inside their bodies could have told the manufacturers ...

... even then as if a little lock's gonna stop a thief getting in.
But yeah even off the plane if you left the thing unattended and the police will pick it up: hmmm batteries, wires, ... and a SIM card (signals detected), hmmm, let's call the bomb squad [and their collection of special very destructive tools] to take a look at this.

Or just try to take it through departures at a modern airport (where they xray everything you have on you down to the contents of your pockets) and you will quickly be having serious conversations with men called "Mr SWAT" and "Mr B Technician"

What a stupid idea! Everybody knows that if you want that kind of thing, you make your luggage out of sentient pearwood. That's what I have done, and no airline has ever dared to throw my off. Well, not since the luggage eat the cabin crew, anyway.

Gotta love the GPS tracking functionality though...
"Unfortunately when the carry-on is in sleep or airplane mode location tracking is not available; however, once the bluetooth button is pressed the suitcase wakes up and begins sending its location allowing you to find it."
So it only works when your phone is in range (probably like a few meters away from you) or someone somewhere activates bluetooth?
