Lots of what is in the book is happening right now : Driving of people's thinking (today through Google, Amazon and co being your reference search engine and driving your life's choices), watching and recording people (OK Google, Alexa, ... People are even buying telescreens - in the book they were forced into everybody's place), the fake news, the public shaming on social networks, new language, etc...
Interesting, but creepy.

"The Prophet", by Kalil Gibran, is classic of a complimentary sort.
It's rather short. A one-sitting read (best way, anyway).
After a bit of creating atmosphere in the beginning, he gives a lot of quite uplifting philosophy. Having read a number of his other books, I'd say this one's pretty much his best. Don't worry about the rest of his works. Just in case the remainder of the recommendations are too depressing.

If you are a recent graduate, your resume will be no more than 1 page with bullet points with your education and what technology you know, and if you have experience, add it also.
After that, a small presentation letter stating why you want to work for such and such company.

Or a youtube video of you dancing on a desk with as sole piece of clothing a black tie and a C# boxer, rapping your resume lines on techno-hip-hop beats, with subliminal flashes of your linkedin profile address alternating with known IT culture memes.

After university, I struggled to get my first CV on 2 pages! Even back then there was still a lot of education (school, college, university), then any part time jobs had to go on there too.
I would say don't worry about breaking the length rules, just make sure the highlights stand out on the first page and leave all the "other information" to the subsequent pages.
