Yes, I get it. I am a VB6, VB.Net, and C# programmer who is skilled in SQL Server.
I only do Desktop and Winforms applications.

People who haven't traveled for work often think it sounds glamorous and can't fathom why anyone would complain about doing it. They don't understand what an absolute pain in the ass air travel is and how seeing hotel rooms in many countries is not the same as being on a vacation. I stopped consulting shortly after 9/11 because after that, travel became unbearable.

Yeah, a lot of us are in that boat. I have a digital books library subscription though. It's quite fantastic because you can read so much and pick and choose the best stuff.

Speaking of books, I was at a Barnes & Noble last weekend and figured I would see what new programming books they had. There must have been over 3 shelves dedicated to Python, and no C# offerings...nothing Visual Studio, and nothing VB either! Things have changed since I last bought a technical/programming book in 2011.

Right, it's demand driven. And demand for books or other help with a subject/tool doesn't equate to demand for the subject/tool itself.
I think my boss was quoting Tiobe this morning when he stated that Python is currently the most popular programming language.

Hey, have you been to my local B&N?
That's the same books they have here at ours.
We have some Java books too, but that is because we are very close to a University and as we all know Universities try to use old technology. They definitely don't want students entering the work market with current skills.
