Before anyone gets his panties in a bunch...I was assured by a gay relative of mine it's ok to make this sort of joke, since:
a) nobody but young women in their 20s and gay couples want anything to do with small useless dogs
b) he's made the observation himself that there seems to be more Mac users amongst the gay population than the population at large. It's been a running joke between me and him pretty much since he came out.

And the Kindle version is 3 quid more than the paperback.
OK, electronic books have VAT on them - 20% - but even without that we are looking at £9.16 vs £7.99. And the paperback includes packaging, next day delivery - the electronic version has no print costs, no material costs, no delivery costs ... so why is it more expensive than the "physical" version?

why does the latest samsung or apple phone cost more than a laptop?
why do low profile tires cost 5 X the price of normal ones?
why is stuff in the department store 10 X the price of the dollar store?
why does water from the corner shop cost more than petrol?

These are not questions to ask the people selling... it's the buyers that got it wrong.

I haven't bought a book in ages. I have library of more than 500, and I can't read a single one of them anymore (eyeballs are degrading, and not gracefully). Everything I have in on Kindle, and generally go for the free ones. Cataract surgery left me with poor close up vision, but just right for monitors, and after more than 60 years of wearing glasses, I can put up with poor closeup vision.
I FINALLY get to buy stylish sunglasses!
