As for me, I'm post anarchist these days. Government is as inevitable as capitalism, and I can find fault with all of the positive prospects of man, so these days I just play the field I'm on rather than mourn it or even change it. Ours is called Dij[^] - short for "Digital" because as a kitten he was either "ON" and doing a "wall of death" round the room, or "OFF" and you could have plucked him bald and he wouldn't respond. Fortunately, he has discovered some middle ground and now only does the wall of death on special occasions.
He's eight now, but refuses to update his profile pic - a bit like Tinder members.

We're nominally cat people too, but we adopted two retired racers three years ago named Bacchus (the Greek/Roman god of, er, whine) and Hera (wife of Zeus, aka Boss Lady). They are the most laid back, relaxed dogs I have ever met. A friend of mine who had one calls them "alpha couch potatoes".
