Once you are used to it, they are really easy: and the battery never goes flat in the drawer ... 
I'm thinking of getting a 3D printer for Christmas from Herself, so I'm looking at CAD packages and for that I need to measure stuff to design holders and so forth. Calipers are the way to do that, and to check manufacturer diagrams, where you can get them.
A little care and you can read 1/100th of a mm very easily and accurately. Or 2/73rds of an inch-pound/per gallon, if you prefer Imperial / Whitworth.

I just found out the Chinese forum is as good as dead and the Indian forum is actually in English.
So consider the Lounge as a German forum, except it's also in English and we discuss topics unrelated to Germany

I guess there are no restrictions for Germans on visiting and contributing to the Indian forum too.

The separate forum is mostly there to familiarize newer members from India/China with the western forum etiquettes. You'll notice a quite a few Indian members chilling in the lounge as well.
It is just there to bridge the cultural gap, no special treatment unlike many believe because of the numbers.
