on a serious note, I found this a bit odd at first (in Python)
if b > a:
print("b is greater than a")
elif a == b:
print("a and b are equal")
But just getting used to it.

Python by itself was feeling a bit strange. And mainly I couldnt take the indent based code blocks without using {}. And with single-line blocks, it feels even more insecure.
As you might know, something like below in C/C++ is highly considered a bad practice.
if(a==b)
cout<<"I'm here";
Though it's allowed, we'd always stick with
if(a==b){
cout<<"I'm here";
}

I've once searched for an hour for a bug in Haskell code (for a Functional Programming course at the Open University).
the code was something like:
line of code here
another line
a third line And I really couldn't find it.
Ultimately, I found that the first indent used spaces while the second used a tab 
Since then I've been really picky about my indents, even in C#.
It does make for some concise code though.

essaying like this is about as close to poetry as i get.
now for some reason i have some passages from Bukowski stuck in my head - particularly Genius of the Crowd.

I knew Bukowski vaguely back in my beatnik-wanna-be daze in NYC's lower east side in 1962. I say vaguely because you didn't meet Bukowski, he ran over you on his way fast to wherever his demons were taking him. Really an ugly person compared to Ginsburg, di Prima, Corso, Ferlinghetti, Rexroth, Patchen, and others in that scene.
