Very similar to the boxing proverb, not word for word but an approximation "It's not about how hard you hit, it's about if someone hits you hard, can you still stand on your feet?", or something like that

True story: My 40th high school reunion was held this past Saturday. The local police department held an impromptu field sobriety checkpoint in town that night as well. Coincidence? I think not(*)!
(*) It wouldn't surprise me to find that my classmates have spent more on alcohol rehab than on their children's college educations.
