I started in 1983 (high school), and my favorite anecdote is still the time I crashed the school's PDP-11 by filling the disk with the log file of a depth-first maze solver.

How is Santa "pushing religion"? Santa as a symbol for crass consumerism, absolutely, but I don't know what religion promotes Santa or how Santa promotes any particular religion.
All my life in fact I've kept hearing from members of all religions commiserating the fact that Santa is twisting the entire message around "the Holidays". Sounds like another case of a sourpuss of a snowflake getting triggered and taking offensive only to be part of some movement.

Note that Bob isn't wearing a Santa hat.
His headwear is a facsimile of cosmic-ray screens worn by early canine-type astronauts in his world, and is worn to commemorate the first orbital flight which didn't explode and spread millions of pieces of dog-like animal throughout his planet's stratosphere -- so it's not religious at all.
The bobble on the end of the protective wear (not the top) provided a filter for the pseudo-canines' nose-like organs -- but Bob obviously can't wear it that way around, because his head is not alien-creature-almost-like-a-dog shaped.

It may stem from a precursor of Santa being a religious individual. The current depiction of Santa isn't supposed to be bound to any particular belief system, but being from the Southern US, I do see it happen often enough. I can see why it's misunderstood.
The National Geographic has a nice history of Santa article that's worth a look.

I haven't seen it yet myself, but despite that, I can also say I like it a lot--but that's only because it means they're finally putting that thing to rest.

I don't like episodes 1 or 2 - I think they were just crappy movies. Episode 3 wasn't too god-awful bad. Of course, the latest movies are better in terms of special effects, but the CGI replacement characters still creep me out a little.

+1 Possibly one of the more honest reviews out there. 42 years is quite an amazing history. (not the word I was looking for, but the nog. It's strong this year).

What drove me nuts was the almost 30 minutes of commercials. Showtime was 4:45 PM, the movie didn't actually start until 5:15 PM. I will never go to a Regal Cinemas showing again.

At which point my popcorn and soda are history, and I'm quickly approaching second stage of REM sleep. I agree with you though, start times should be the actual start times.

It has given my son and I plenty about which to argue. We do agree that it should have been split into two movies. I feel that there are some scenes which seemed rushed and incomplete -- maybe the blu-ray will have them expanded.
However, there is only one Star Wars and it was released in 1977.
