Pointers may be?
Clueless pointers, as there's no clue provided
Though there is no point for them to be POINTERS

It looks like jsc42 isn't doing the CCC today[^]. So, have this really simple one:
The Germans were having a come back (6)

Fixed the date.

Look at the date! It is still the 1st of December...
It is written in CP, so it must be true...
I think we can stop time indefinitely by NOT answering daily riddles

But I am thinking to declare you as the winner because you have posted the answer (well, it's a substring of one of the words in your post). Not sure what the rules are...

You have just been Sharapova'd.

I will post it on the 2nd - which is tomorrow - so I'm not jet the winner

You already posted it tomorrow, which means that you should have set yesterday's question today.
I think.

You got me there - let me think about yesterday...

Since no one has posted the answer with the solution, you are up for today's one.
It was a "hidden word" clue and the answer was "ANSWER"
"The Germans were having a come back" -> "come back" was the definition and "having" was the "hidden word" indicator.
I think there were such situations earlier when a winner was declared even if they had posted the answer unknowingly.

Isn't 'comeback' a single word in this context?
|
|
|
|
|
Indeed, it should have been a single word.
I actually meant "answer" as a verb and went with "come back" (I believe "comeback" is a noun, not a verb). But now when I look at the clue, it really shouldn't have the article.

..is how long Visual Studio 2015 with Update 1 took to install.
I can only assume the install package consisted of a strand of DNA and it had to evolve into an intelligent life form before becoming a working program?

That would be a remarkably efficient way to distribute software over very slow connections.
Perhaps MS are planning cutbacks in their internet access speeds?
