Hi
I am a newbie on websites but I am looking for a Content Management System that will allow me to give each editor access to a single page, not to the whole site, so they can update their page without affecting anyone elses page (with me as being able to give final OK)
I see references to WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal and have tried to look at the documentation of each but cannot find any information on what I want to do.
Any advice on which system to use to accomplish my goal and how easy it is to do would be welcome.

One other CMS that might be worth consideration is Dot Net Nuke (DNN), the community edition (free) can be found here http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/[^].
The wikipedia entry[^] has some basic information and some links. The main site[^] under community and support has some good training material. If you use microsoft then this is worth considering uses SQL server and based on asp.net. There a free modules to cover most requirements, events, forum, document management. All the requirements l have seen in this thread can be met by DNN. There is an active developer community, and plenty of support sites, both free and paid.
Personally l have been using it for over 6 years, and have built sites for both community and commercial use. I have used both Wordpress and Joomula, however l still come back to DNN that is more personal preference l suspect .

Anyone else remember this power transistor? I happened to come across a bug (# 53055) in TFS at work and immediately thought of my old friend.

That was one of my favorite workhorse devices, ideal for use as a pass transistor in linear regulated power supplies! Motorola offered its complement in PNP, as well, the MJ2955, which made push-pull power amplifiers a snap to design! They just don't make 'em like the used to. Oh, wait... yes, they do![^]

When I saw the subject line I thought you were talking about a strain of bird flu.

Nobody had heard of bird flu in the 70s.

Yep. When I would work on my model trains, there would be a hint of burning plastic smell to go with it

Heh, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw your post, and wondered what in the world someone could be posting about a transistor for.

I still have one (with its legs cut off) as a key fob.
It was one of a total of eight that got fried in a regulated power supply / linear amplifier combination when a capacitor failed.
That was in about 1973.
I used to use them [almost] by the bucket full.

There are more catholic churches in Las Vegas than casinos.
Many worshippers give casino chips rather than money for the offering. Since they get so many chips from so many different casinos, the churches have devised a method to collect the offerings. They send all collected chips to a nearby Franciscan Monastery for sorting and then the chips are taken to the casinos of origin and cashed in.
All this work is graciously done by... CHIP MONKS!

Votes of 1 to 5 just don't address that sort of post: we need a voting button that signifies "groan".
