I would really like the Metro infrastructure to be supported for desktop app's. Its all good, but I don't like the restriction of having to sell app's through the Windows Store. Apart from that, using XAML in C++ would be really nice and to my mind provides a better foundation (whether for C++ or .NET) than Silverlight.
I disagree that Visual Studio has been adopted because of Office, quite the other way around. Exchange and Outlook are even more key than the other Office applications to my mind. I never knew a business adopt VS before Office back in the day - even now many use Office without VS.

Visual Studio and Microsoft office are independent. What I wanted to imply is that corporations have gone with windows because Visual Studio, and once Windows was in the corporations, that sort of gave Office an edge. If Windows did not have such a domininant position in the corporations, Office would have had to be implemented on multiple platforms to become the standard it is. However, I would totally not support the idea that Visual Studio was adopted because of office. More the other way around.

Bing is one of the few "free" things they still have.
Microsoft would get out of the OS buisness before they gave it away for free.
They have moved to a "Make Money or Get rid of it" way.
I deleted all of the information from my Skpye account and uninstalled it when microsoft took over.
(Skype accounts never die, you can only remove information)
I don't like office 365 service.(it Serves no Purpose for me )
I never knew Apple gave away it's OS. Last I checked also it cost you to get into developing software for their platform. I couldn't even find a way to look at their API.
I don't even know anyone that uses apple besides a Iphone.
I can't stand Windows 8 or 8.1 . Ive already had two systems where I had to go in and kill those "Suspended Apps" in order for the system to start working again without rebooting.
not to mention you end up with allot of them suppended after just trying them out.
Thats a Stupid way to get apps to launch faster.

It would depend on the circumstances I think. But while they continue to make huge profits from Windows there is no incentive for them to do this - even if they were allowed to.

But iPhones and iPads would appear to be good enough. Apple is the most profitable IT company in the world right now and sitting on a cash stockpile of about $150 billion. So, from their perspective, they're doing something right! Doesn't matter whether anyone personally thinks they're overpriced. The market says otherwise.

I never liked skype to start with. I only had it for online game play. I don't do that anymore.
As far as deleting the information, You can not cancel thus destroy the account.
The best you can do is remove any personal information and let it sit.
Unless there was a recent change.
I do know 1 person that has an Ipad now that you mention it.
I would like to get my hands on an apple laptop or desktop to dig in and see how the OS works compaired to windows.

I do have a refurbished, slightly crippled Mac Mini but I don't use it very much. I've used Macs before but I've yet to experience the "wow" factor that the fan boys claim.
