Recently I've been responsible for migrating our company email into office 365 using cut off migration and designed a a Mail Gateway server for dealing with LOB Application generated data. Today the plan was put into execution, needless to say all the fine planning went down to a T.

Just installed the latest Java update. (yes yes, I know, that was my first mistake. Move on!  )
At the end it has a notification about automatic updates being downloaded and installed, and there's a link that says "See instructions if you want to change this behaviour".
When you click the link, Notepad opens, but no file is loaded.
Is this a subtle hint that you can't change the behaviour??

aside from being a new language what is it's purpose?
to create something simpler to work vs C/C++? getting kind of burned on all of these new languages trying to create a simpler c/c++.
are pointers really that much of a problem to deal with?
