RIP Pushkin[^]
July 2005 - May 14, 2014.
He was the most amazing cat. 9 years was too short. He was doing fine, no health problems, and tonight, as he was looking out the window, he fell out of the chair having a seizure. He died in my arms a couple minutes later.
We will miss him.

Sorry about your loss. 
We have had to put down two cats, both due to kidney problems. And it isn't easy. I still miss them, and I will never forget them (as long as my memory works the way it should).

Some people might say a cat is not a human and so it shouldn't matter to much. They're only half right.
A cat is a friend and it matters a great deal!
I lost Siepie about two years ago (she was 19!) and I still miss her.
Here's something I read a while ago; Don't be sad it's over, be glad it happened.
Whenever I think of Siepie I consider myself lucky to have had such an amazing friend and I must smile

The only news here in San Diego, are the wildfires burning all around the county. It looks like we are up to 9 fires at this point. It is 6 PM now, so the strong winds are dying down and the temperatures dropping a bit.
We have had a high temperature of 97°F (36°C) today with 6-8% humidity and strong winds, so it does not take much to get these fires going. I am pretty safe (for now), but I work with people that live close to the fires and have children whose schools were evacuated.
I bought a car today after my car was declared a total loss yesterday as a result of my accident last week. I could have done without the extra expense, but it is what it is.
To those of you that have asked, my wife and I are very relieved after the results from her biopsy came back as non-cancerous.

You are absolutely right. Everyone at work are constantly keeping their eyes on the news. Except for those that could not come to work today because they live in areas of the county that are still under evacuation.
