Just to add to what the others have said: the spammer I was referring to in that case had set his location as "India" as well. I don't believe that my comment was (or could easily) be taken as referring to Indians (or any other country or ethnic group) in general, but if you feel it was then I can only apologise.

There's a difference between wondering if it's someone from a company and deducing it. The original post includes references to wondering whether it is, or if it's someone else. That may seem a semantic issue, but it is important because it relates to perceptions.

If there's one thing that's almost as bad as racism, it's using the term racist without justification. Next time you want to use the R word, I suggest that you look for some real evidence.
I am certain that you would find absolutely none from this member who has done more for this community than most. I'd be less irritated with you if you had posted a retraction.

I'm not convinced - his other article[^] has about the same ones, and that's 5 years old.
There isn't anything in his bio which says he is connected with the product, and if he was spamming for Siemens I'd expect to see it more often than once every five years.
I think he's just a user who really likes it!
Probably worth a message to say "drop the links" perhaps, but it's not "kick the member" stuff IMHO.

I can't see the question since it was deleted but I think we need to be slow to judge on this issue. What's wrong with learning how to write a key logging app? I agree, it could be used inappropriately but so can many other pieces of code. It can also be a good learning opportunity.

This sounds like spying on something and hence we have never entertained such questions. You can find tons of posts reporting such questions and members. Further, there are too many approach to learn something. One should not start learning by such stuff.
