Legal issues have been part of software development for a long time now. The major difference between proprietary software and open-source software is the "virality" of some open-source licenses. For example, any software that contains open-source software using GPL must be made open-source.

It's sounds like part of the kind of excuse the EU is using to try to subsidize their economies at the expense of US corporations.
One wonders how much these users would be willing to pay per click for unbiased searchers?

AFAIK they forgot to mention the long-term servicing branch that will be good for years (and not just four months) without forced feature updates, just like it worked before when they released a new version of Windows every few years.
EDIT: Okay, there is a second page of the article that mentioned it (why do they have to split that up? Hunting for clicks?)

I think because the article was more focused on the Home edition. It doesn't have the LTS branch available, does it? (I never pay attention to these things - I know I'll have to upgrade pretty much first day of availability to either Ent or Pro)
