Today, I accompanied my wife and daughter to the ballet.
Yes... willingly... we watched "The Wizard of Oz"; the evil witch was well done, the costume helped to build the character.
My wife's favorite scene was "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" as the dancers moved about in pastel dresses with matching kerchiefs.
I enjoyed the scenes with the flying monkeys; artistic (not flying, but well danced) and I was wondering how they would accomplish that.
My daughter enjoyed it much more than "The Nutcracker"... and I think we've filled out ballet quota for the year!
How many man points did I earn/lose for spending the day with my family on an activity my wife picked?

Another thing you should do since wife/daughter like this stuff - catch Les Misérables if you can. In fact, I'd put that on my bucket list.

Why would you think you would lose any points doing something like that? Showed love to your wife and child and sounds like you actually enjoyed yourself. Real man stuff there and your daughter will always remember.
We went a couple of weeks ago because my 20 year old's girlfriend was in the chorus singing for Carmina Burana. I found out where Sean Hannity (political pundit on the radio and Fox News channel here in America) gets his music from.

Not the first - we had one guy here a year or so ago got ransomed. He paid, they sent a key, which didn't work. He complains, they want more money ...
Take backups. Regularly. Remove the media from the PC when it's done, and don't use that one for the next backup.
If you get ransomware, reformat, and reload from backups. Do not pay anything - if people stop paying, they will stop ransoming. As long as some do, they will continue. It really is that simple!

Yes! And I know you include systems drive images in "backups".
I also keep critical data files backed up to DVDs, where they can never get encrypted.
Get me coffee and no one gets hurt!

Oh yes - it takes days to get all the apps installed and configured the way I like 'em!
Or an hour to restore a whole disk image. No contest!
