Had the same sort of problems with my recent adventure with an Ubuntu VM under a Mac because the former mostly used the same shortcuts as my PC. Mostly I suffered the same reasons you did, lost time due to the Mac being a Mac was as least a learning experience. Setting up the dev environment again after the IT guy finally got me a loaner PC would've been pure waste.

I tend to use everything exception Windows Explorer full screen, often because I have multiple copies of that open to different folders and drag files between. I also don't use console/powershell windows full screen. Oh, and calculator, because why would you.
Everything else, VS, Outlook, browsers, games, office apps etc. I use full screen with one on each of 2 or 3 monitors, and task switch between instances/apps via the keyboard.
That's probably just me though. I'm usually in the minority.

0. The ability to make shortcuts, like you can with every messaging app -- not needed; I want an OS and my own apps.
1. That bollocks they were talking about earlier, which is the modern day equivalent of flashing text.
2:Quote: It's unlikely that we'll see full Windows 10 running on phones in the fall however, so don't be holding your breath for that.
Because it's unlikely you'll even see a windows phone!
3:Quote: a feature that Insiders have been asking for ever since OneDrive placeholders got removed from Windows 10
"Insiders" meaning "marketing morons within ms itself".
4. The ability to connect speakers specifically for spyware a feature that no-one in their right mind uses.
5. More useless bloat promised for the future.
6. Tabs everywhere, which developers could already have used, if they wanted to (QED Xplorer2, Q-Dir, etc.)
... And no notification of which genuinely useful functionality they're either going to cut or break, this time around.
I can't wait.

Well initially that sentance raised hope, buuuuut confirmed they in fact have no intention of making windows better, instead their focus is 100% on further bloating it.
Time ms faced the foregone fact the pc is less and less becoming a consumer platform, even in business. Development is the only area the pc still seriously dominates, yet they are nackering developers for the sake of an unsavable shrinking consumer market share.

So useful, windows 10 in my toaster.
Either have to wait 10 minutes for the update before can cook the bread,
or if you're too fast pushing wait 10 minutes for it to pop up (not including use of the fire extinguisher at the 3 minute mark).
But seriously that's my point, they can do the windows 10 features on the devices,
but leave the damn pc alone (i.e. in 100% control by the owner) because it's the development platform for the devices' softwares. (and yes, 'softwares' is the correct word to use.)
